Each category of postures in a yoga class has a specific key reminders for alignment; once you understand the muscle actions in a few key poses, you understand the key actions in any posture that is similar. While this class focuses on teaching key alignment principles, the idea is to learn alignment from the outside in, so you can begin to feel your way into proper alignment from the inside out. Embrace the Light: A Yoga Retreat for Santosha (Contentment)

Embrace the Light: A Yoga Retreat for Santosha (Contentment)

August 1 marks the halfway point between the celebration of summer solstice and the impending descent into darkness of the fall equinox and Samhain (or Halloween). In Celtic days, this was called “Lughnasadh” after the old Irish god Lugh who rescued grain to feed mankind. It is known as “the first harvest,” when the wheel of spring and summer started to reap the benefits of the year’s work.

In our yoga practice, we can take this opportunity to find contentment - or the second niyama of Patanjali’s yoga sutras. In this all-inclusive weekend, practice contentment by eliminating anxiety of the future, regrets of the past, and finding gratitude in the present. We will have two nourishing slow yoga classes, two invigorating flow classes, and opportunities for discussion, journaling, and meditation to round out your weekend.

**We will have a live musician accompanying all four yoga practices! Please check out the handpan and Rick Kloog to get a taste of the beautiful musical accompaniment in store for you.

Pricing includes two nights accommodation and vegetarian meals. Location: Easton Kansas, at Christ’s Peace House of Prayer

Setting the Seed: A Winter Solstice 1 Day Yoga Retreat

The Winter Sosltice is one of the most beautiful times of the year. Holidays, family, and a bustle of activities can make this time very special, but also hectic and unnerving.

Traditionally, the winter solstice is celebrated as the Return of the Sun. In the darkest night of the year, it holds the seed of light that will gradually grow over the next six months. It's a powerful time to take space to get clear on your intentions, desires, adn what you want to build as the sun makes its gradual return.

This day-long retreat will start with meditation, move into a blissful two hour practice to connect you to your deepest self, and move into an afternoon of setting your sankalpa - or your root intention - for the next year. End the day with restorative yoga and essential oils to give back to yourself this season.
