August 1 marks the halfway point between the celebration of summer solstice and the impending descent into darkness of the fall equinox and Samhain (or Halloween). In Celtic days, this was called “Lughnasadh” after the old Irish god Lugh who rescued grain to feed mankind. It is known as “the first harvest,” when the wheel of spring and summer started to reap the benefits of the year’s work.
In our yoga practice, we can take this opportunity to find contentment - or the second niyama of Patanjali’s yoga sutras. In this all-inclusive weekend, practice contentment by eliminating anxiety of the future, regrets of the past, and finding gratitude in the present. We will have two nourishing slow yoga classes, two invigorating flow classes, and opportunities for discussion, journaling, and meditation to round out your weekend.
Pricing includes two nights accommodation and vegetarian meals.
